Why Medi-Purge™?

  • Cleanliness: using the Medi-Purge™ as intended, ensures the medical gas pipeline has adequate NF nitrogen flow.
         - Contractors may use brazing rods, screw drivers, etc to open the secondary checks, possibly damaging outlets / inlets and may leave debris in the outlet / pipeline
        - Contractors may use front assemblies - intended for final installation - as part of the purge. This leaves open front assemblies lying around the job site. In addition, medical gas adaptors are required to open the front assembly check. The medical gas adaptors are often machined so they are universal. This is not NFPA compliant as the adaptor will now fit all gas outlets / inlets
  • Time: the Medi-Purge™, when used as intended, will save brazing time. (placing multiple Medi-Purge's™ on same gas outlets / inlets allows the installer to braze all joints - knowing that proper NF nitrogen flow is being applied)
  • Analyzer test port: the Medi-Purge™ comes with a 1/4" hole through the brass plunger allowing an oxygen analyzer to be placed into the Medi-Purge™ to ensure all air has been expelled
  • Flexibility: The Medi-Purge™ comes with a 1/4" NPT connection on the end of the brass plunger. This allows NF nitrogen to flow into and outlet. In addition, the Medi-Purge™ will also allow NF nitrogen to flow out of an outlet
  • Eliminate damage to outlets / inlets:
         - The
Medi-Purge™ will not damage outlets. The current ways of opening the secondary check valves are:
screw drivers, brazing rods, pencils, etc - all of which can damage the outlet back body seals / o- rings
         - allows NF nitrogen to flow into an outlet back body. By doing so, heat from brazing is pushed away from the
outlet check assembly (check assemblies are made of polymer materials that are susceptible to melting)
  • Fits all back bodies: the Medi-Purge™ is designed to be used with medical gas back bodies, it is not gas specific. It can be used on oxygen, medical air, vacuum, WAGD, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and nitrous oxide on: Amico®, BeaconMedaes ®, Gentec®, Ohio Medical®, etc back bodies. (separate Medi-Purge™ for Chemetron® outlets / inlets part # MP-A)
